Visual AI Thought Maps

Your conversations branch. Now you can see the whole picture.

Turn your AI conversations into structured visual maps. See how ideas connect, revisit any branch, and export your thinking as a diagram.

What a thought map looks like

A recreation of APReason's map design using a made-up conversation — no real user data. It shows four branches, so it represents a Pro or Premium conversation; Free conversations allow up to 2 branches and show structure without AI labels.

Long chats bury good ideas

In a single scrolling chat, every tangent pushes earlier thinking out of view. APReason lets you branch instead — and the thought map shows every branch at once, so you can see which paths you explored, which are settled and which are still open.

Linear chat

One long scroll. Side questions mix into the main thread and earlier ideas get lost.

Mapped branches

Each tangent lives in its own branch, and the map shows how they all connect.

How it works

  1. 01

    Branch a tangent

Open a branch from any part of an answer to explore a side question without derailing the main thread.

  2. 02

    Open the Thought map

Once a conversation has at least one branch, click the Thought map button to draw the structure of your conversation.

  3. 03

    Revisit, export or share

Click any branch on the map to jump back into it, export the diagram, or create a read-only share link.

Export your map

  • • SVG and PNG on every plan
  • • PDF on Pro and Premium
  • • Premium PDFs include the AI narrative page

Share a read-only snapshot

A share link opens a fixed snapshot with branch titles, hierarchy, short excerpts and any AI labels or summary. Anyone with the link can view it, so share it only with people you trust. Your full messages, prompts and attached code are not included, and shared maps are kept out of search engines.

Frequently asked questions

Is a map created automatically every time I branch?

No. Maps are drawn on demand: once a conversation has at least one branch, click the Thought map button to open it. The map reflects the branches that exist at that moment.

Is this a mind-mapping whiteboard?

No. APReason organises your conversation branches into a structured diagram automatically. You can't drag nodes around, draw freehand or zoom with on-map controls; the layout follows the shape of your conversation.

What's different on paid plans?

Free maps show the structure of your branches. Pro adds AI-written branch labels (10 AI map generations a day) and PDF export. Premium adds a short AI narrative of how your thinking developed (30 AI map generations a day), which is also included in its PDF export.

Which export formats are available?

Every plan can export SVG and PNG. Pro and Premium can also export PDF. There is no raw Mermaid or Markdown download.

Who can see a shared map?

Anyone who has the share link can view that read-only snapshot. It contains branch titles, the branch hierarchy, short excerpts and any AI labels or summary — not your full messages, prompts or attached code. Shared maps are not listed in search engines. Only share the link with people you trust.

Does a shared map update when I keep chatting?

No. A share link is a snapshot taken when you create it. Later messages and branches are not added to it.
